Mokosh is one of Hey Mama Wolf’s most beloved yarns—a 2-ply sport weight made from GOTS-certified Merino d'Arles wool. With a micron count of just 21, this is the softest wool native to Europe. The Merino d’Arles sheep, a rare breed from southern France, produces fleece with a high crimp, creating natural pockets of air that provide warmth and insulation. The resulting yarn is incredibly fluffy, bouncy, and soft to the touch.

The wool is spun and dyed at Hey Mama Wolf's trusted GOTS-certified mill in Turkey, allowing every step of production—from raw fleece to finished skein—to happen under one roof. This not only minimizes our carbon footprint, but also ensures ethical, sustainable practices every step of the way. GOTS certification guarantees high standards for the environment, animal welfare, and everyone involved in the supply chain.
