The Story
Shaped by the sea and the stark, untamed landscapes of the Finnish archipelago, Archipelago Knitting is a special issue featuring 20 thoughtfully designed knitting patterns.
Bringing classic and timeless knitwear designs together in one beautiful volume, this issue showcases skillfully designed patterns inspired by archipelago nature and the Finnish coastal landscape — from rock formations and sea-worn stones to distinctive coastal plant life.
The designs in Archipelago Knitting draw their inspiration from the sea and the rugged beauty of the Finnish archipelago. The designs in are created by both Finnish and international knitwear designers, each bringing their own interpretation of the Finnish archipelago’s nature to garment silhouettes, colourwork motifs, and textured stitch patterns.
The designers featured: Anna Johanna, Anna Tanskanen, Jenny Williams, Jona Bednjanec, Ulrika Krantz, Sara R., Emma Suominen, Hannemari Lehtonen, Heli Hottinen-Puukko, Janita Koskinen, Anna-Karoliina Tetri, Veera Jussila and Meg Gadsbey.
